Fast foods joints serve health foods, but hide them in the menu

McDonald’s, Wendy’s, KFC, Taco Bell, Burger King all serve healthy fast food the moment you start reading between the lines of their menu cards. Gina Kasten, dietetic intern at Ball Memorial Hospital points out the fact that the consumer can eat healthy foods in a fast food joint by ordering for baked, barbecued, broiled, grilled, poached or steamed foods. The Star Press survey makes it clearer by listing out the health foods served in all fast food joints based on their calorie content, fats and the mode of preparation.

If nutritional advocates have pointed out the negative side of fast foods then it is because of the lack of nutrients in high calorific foods, but there are salads, low-fat appetizers and grilled sandwiches that can prove to smoothen the indulgence of the consumers with a ‘Good Food’.

Therefore, the nutritional advocates should not rush like mad bulls over fast food joints and sue them up. It is in the hands of the consumer to choose what is not au gratin, breaded, buttered, creamed, and crispy, deep-fried, fried, hollandaise, pan fried, pastry, prime, rich, sauteed, scalloped, with gravy, with mayonnaise, with thick sauce.
