Jessica’s soul gets justice after eleven years of her brutal murder, the Supreme Court of India upheld Delhi High Court’s decision on the Jessica murder case.
Jessica Lall was a famous Indian model who used to serve drinks in high profile parties at the bar.
Earlier Manu Sharma’s name was cleared by a lower trial court but later on he is found to be guilty by the Delhi High Court. The Court had sentenced Sharma life in prison for killing Lall, after she declined to give him a drink at Tamarind bar in south Delhi as it was closing time.
Afterwards Manu Sharma, 35, son of a venod Sharma appealed in the Supreme Court against the verdict given by Delhi High court. But at last justice been done by SC and culprit is declared guilty in Jessica murder case.
“I’m glad the final door has been closed on this,” Sabrina Lall, the late Jessica’s sister told media after the Supreme Court judgment came in.
This murder case got top headlines in the county. A large number of people were eye witness of this killing, they declared themselves to be the eyewitness but later on denied of making any such statement as the murder case started moving through the legal procedure.
When Sharma was set free in absence of proof, his early acquittal made people angry and they started making street protests in order to awake the authorities and compelled them to reopen the case.
In India’s most of the time we see that courts go very slow and cases take decades and decades to get resolved, Jessica’s case is one such example. Legal system needs to be equipped well so that justice should be done in time. We are happy that Jessica got justice however it’s very late but at least justice is done.
