The favorite East Indian food is fish and fish cooked with yogurt is the comfort food, which can be eaten throughout the year. Curd fish is usually made out of seafish like tuna, salmon, bass, hilsa and rohu. This dish is not spicy, but is simple and flavorful.
Method:
1. Smear the fish fillets with yogurt, turmeric, mustard oil, salt and keep aside for an hour.
2. In a pressure cooker fry a teaspoonful of crushed garlic, potatoes, eggplants and carrots.
3. Saute it with red chili, cilantro and slited green chilies and a dash of salt. Cook until the vegetables are tender.
4. Add the fish fillets and stir it carefully so that the fillets do not break, add 3 cups of water and boil it for 5-7 minutes. Blend in another bowlful of yogurt simmer it and garnish it with chopped coriander leaves.
The curd fish tastes best with rice and sauteed green beans.
