Summer Foods: The Wet Rice Phenomenon

ruioSummer is not very far but knowing your summer food is very important and I am sharing with you the best summer foods from my hometown Orissa. It is called as “Pakhala Bhaat” or rice soaked in water. You just have to soak cooked rice in iced water and eat it while having your lunch.

You just have to drain handfuls of rice form the same bowl and squeeze the water while eating the rice, once you have finished the rice drink the water in which you had soaked the rice. This water keeps your stomach cool throughout the day. This meal can be accompanied with mashed potato and roasted eggplants. This is a day to day experience in my hometown in case you find it weird…nevertheless it is a coolant in summer.
