Short-tempered slugger Foxy Brown, who is three months pregnant, will spend at least two weeks behind the bars until her next hearing on September 7.
Chart-topping rapper Foxy Brown, real name Inga Marchand, has been sent to jail by a New York judge on the accusations of violating the terms of her release after she was arrested earlier this month on charges she spanked her neighbor with her cell phone. Brown even skipped her anger management classes and traveled out of the city without permission.
Probation lawyer Matilde Leo said,
She has an air of entitlement about her. Probation is a privilege, not a right. … She has finally abused that privilege to the point of no return.
The sentence comes after Foxy Brown had two separate arguments with the law. The first comes from an assault last week, in which she attacked her Brooklyn neighbor with her BlackBerry device. One day after she surrendered to police, authorities pulled the rapper over in Mahway, New Jersey, after she was spotted talking on her cell phone while driving a 2007 Land Rover.
According to People magazine, Brown provided the police officers a false birth date and a variation of her legal name. After she admitted her real name, Inga Marchand was found to be driving with a suspended license, as well as suspended registration. Foxy Brown was issued seven traffic tickets at the police station and released.
The 27-year old rapper was also on trial for attacking two manicurists at a nail salon in 2004. She was arrested Aug. 14 on charges of assaulting Arlene Raymond, 25, on July 30 after the pair got into a fight over Brown blasting her car stereo near her home in Brooklyn.
TMZ reports that Stephen Morello from the Department of Corrections has stated Foxy Brown will be taken to the Rose M. Singer Center, a women’s jail facility on Riker’s Island. It is also assumed that that Foxy will be isolated from the rest of the facility’s population, but that determination is on going.
