Garth Brooks to help wildfire victims via charity gig

Scarecrow singer, Garth Brooks will help raise money for the victims who got affected by recent California wildfires. The 45-year-old has announced a charity gig on January 26, 2008 at Los Angeles’ Staples Center.

The collections of ‘Ropin’ the Wind’ singers’ performance would help to make up for the loss and will aslo be used to avert similar damages in other states.

When asked to perform the singer said :

I’m flattered they’ve asked, and I’m honored to accept. This is going to take a team effort like nothing I have ever been a part of before.

Since he retired officially from singing and recordings on October 26, 2000, Brooks with wife Trisha Yearwood performed for the first time on November 14, 2007 at the new Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri.

Seeing the Kansas show a sold out in 4 minutes, own popularity and craze amongst fans, Brooks has announced 8 more shows to be performed at the Sprint Center from November 5-12. The new added shows once again were sold out on the day when they were released.

He wants to make a comeback once his children graduate from school. Recently during the Kansas performance on Nov. 14, 2007 he announced:

I promise if you wait for me, I will be back.

Being a Brooke fan I eagerly wait his comeback in the music world.
