The Oscar winner actress Gwyneth Paltrow has taken up an anti-cancer campaign backed by Damiani, the jeweler she models for.
The disease has killed actress’s dad, aunt, grandmothers and one of her young cousin.
The ‘Shakespeare in Love’ star admitted that she now felt at risk from the disease herself. Paltrow is mum of two children with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.
She said,
Cancer has been the curse of my family. I am challenging these evil genes by natural means.
She said she and her children led vegetarian lifestyles and only organic soaps and cleaners are used in an effort to keep the disease at bay.
The 34-year old actress after a long break now wants to get back into films. She took a long break from the films to have children.
She said,
I will ask my friends Cate Blanchett and Kate Winslet for advice.
They have both been able to combine the job of a mother with that of an actress.
