After clinching the Best Supporting Actor award at the Golden Globes, Heath Ledger has secured a posthumous nomination at the Oscars for his portrayal of The Joker in The Dark Knight.
It won’t come as a surprise if the nomination converts into an easy victory for Ledger because his performance easily stands out way above his competitors’ in the same category. The Dark Knight also secured a good standing in the Technical Awards category, however, it failed to clinch the nomination for Best Picture or Best Director.
Meanwhile, Ledger is dearly remembered and missed on his first death anniversary as the gap he left is proving too deep now. Its an irony that The Joker had to leave the stage before accepting the accolades for his best ever performance. Anyway, click here for the full list of nominees.
