Spicy Pants is a celebrity gossip blogger on Celebrity Smack and has been blogging since 2003. Spicy Pants’ real name is ‘Carrie’ who quit her bartending job of 7 years to start blogging as a full time profession. She almost spends 6-10 hours a day to her blog– Celebrity Smack. In an email interview with us, Spicy unveiled her passion for blogging, here she says:

Celebguru: Spicy, Please introduce yourself to our readers.

Spicy: Hello world, I am ‘Spicy Pants’ from Celebrity Smack. My real name is ‘Carrie’ and I am 35. I have been blogging since 2003. Celebrity Smack was my second blog. I started it in 2004. I finally quit bartending after 7 years to do it full-time as a profession.

Celebguru: What are your strengths, weaknesses and interests?

Spicy: Regarding my site, I’d say my strengths are that I am dedicated, passionate and care what my readers think. Weaknesses, ugh. Sometimes I get burned out and want to take a week off! My interests are obviously pop culture and I am obsessed with the 1970’s-1980’s. I have a lot of fond memories growing up during those times. Other interests include my family, of course. My husband is my best friend and we are always out with friends doing something fun and spontaneous. Life is short!

Celebguru: How did you get the idea to start Celebrity Smack Gossip Blog, I mean, what inspired you to do so?

Spicy: I had just had surgery and was bored. Painkillers and boredom can make you do strange things! Also it was just after the Ashlee Simpson SNL lip-synching disaster and I wanted to rant about it.

Celebguru: How many people visit your blog per day? How much time, per day, do you devote to your blog?

Spicy: My hits are down a bit since moving to my own domain (from Blogger) in June, but steadily getting back to normal. It’s a sore subject with me right now! As for time I spend on the blog, it’s a lot. Probably between 6-10 hours a day. There is a lot to do behind the scenes that keeps you very busy.

Celebguru: The whole Internet, of course, as a media, is moving towards Web 2.0. How far do you think the phenomenon has emerged successfully?

Spicy: I think it’s come a long way in the past 5 years. I hope it’s only the beginning though, I have done nothing but benefit from it. I am very anxious to see where we will go from here. The internet is a constantly evolving and changing place. Isn’t it exciting?

Celebguru: What are some of the common mistakes people make with their blogs?

Spicy: Copy and pasting. Not naming sources. Not networking with other bloggers. Not spell-checking. Too many blogs lack personality as well. I think personality is key to success!

Celebguru: Do you vie anybody, I mean any archrivals who you want to out-do?

Spicy: Of course, there is always competition but I am not going to start a flame war here. Besides, I am not too concerned about how others are doing as long as I am happy with where I am. And I am.

Celebguru: What will Celebritysmackblog.com morph into after, say, five years, any plans?

Spicy: I hope I can still be making enough money to where I can stay working at home doing what I love! I just hope the site continues to get bigger and better. Hopefully I will have a staff by then!

Celebguru: We’d like to have your views on Celebguru

Spicy: I like the layout. Very professional.

Rapid Fire Round:

Celebguru: What is your favorite Celebrity Smack post of all time?

Spicy: I have a few, but the one that stands out right away is ‘The Evolution of Donatella Versace’.
(http://www.celebritysmackblog.com/2007/07/06/the-evolution-of-donatella-versace/) I compiled photo’s Donatella over a 17-year time span to see how plastic surgery has changed her face so dramatically. The end result was frightening. Her profile is truly scary these days. She looks like a Jim Henson puppet!

Celebguru: Which are your three favorite celebrity gossip blogs?

Spicy: This is always a sticky question. I have lots of blogging friends! Well, of course TMZ.com is fabulous. I can’t believe how far they have come in one year. I wish I had the funding they did!

I love GalleryoftheAbsurd.com. The artist there is pure genius! She is so creative and has a fantastic sense of humor! HolyCandy.com is one I am really enjoying right now too.

Celebguru: If you could choose one characteristic you have that brought you success, what would it be?

Spicy: Longevity.

Celebguru: What would you choose: Usweekly, People, Hellomagazine

Spicy: UsWeekly. It’s sort of in between the other two.

Celebguru: Who do you think would win in the Tommy vs. Kid Rock fight at 2007 VMAs?

Spicy: Kid Rock. Fighting Tommy Lee would be like fighting Keith Richards..or a little old man.

Celebguru: Britney Spears’ performance at 2007 MTV Video Music Awards: Love it, Hate it

Spicy: Gee, that’s a tough one. :Gag:

Celebguru: Paris Hilton’s new hairdo:

Spicy:Cute when it’s not all poofy like it was at the VMAs. I like it short on her though. She doesn’t look so trampy!

Spicy, thank you very much for doing an interview with us, it is highly appreciated and I’d like to wish you god luck for all your upcoming endeavors.
