Indian Grand Prix: Race to Get Into Stands

The excitement seems to be growing among the people for the forthcoming F1 race. However, the excitement seems to be low as compared to last year as per the owners of the Greater Noida’s Buddha International Circuit. Jaypee Sports International who are organizing the race and are alos owners of the circuit claim that the expected audience is between 70,000 to 75,000 this year as compared to an audience of 95,000 last year. However, the organizers are unfazed by this reduction in numbers and they had been anticipating this.

As per estimates nearly 65,000 tickets were sold at the beginning of the week through portals like Book My Show, Cafe Coffee Day Outlets, Mercedes Dealership stores and the malls across cities.

Celebrities in Attendance

Celebrities both Indian and international love to make appearances in such sports events. The F1 race is no different. Last year also we saw celebrities making appearance at the Grand Prix in great numbers and this year seems to be no different. Corporate honchos like Richard Branson and many others are expected to attend the mega event. Celebrities like Sachin Tendulkar, Hrithik Roshan, Sonakshi Sinha and many other big Bollywood names are expected to attend the event.  Popular bollywood singer Shaan has been roped in to sing the National Anthem at the great event.

Ticket Sale Trends This Year

Vice President of JSPI said, that it is an international trend that volume of ticket sale is usually lower in the second season of any such event. Besides there have been many factors that have impacted the sale of tickets this year. High air fare rates, costly hotel rooms have been a hindrance for many fans who had planned to attend the event this year. The not so good economic sentiments among corporates have also heavily impacted ticket sale.
