There is crisis in America. If care is not taken, you will be watching it soon on a TV near you.
I am not talking about Christian militia in the Midwest preparing to battle the anti-Christ.
Here is the summary of what happened.
For a long time, America worked on the premise that there was enough space in America for everyone. Its interpretation differed from place to place. Essentially, it wasn’t really true. But everyone pretended that it was.
Over the years, as different tribes got each other in focus, in contact and in conflict, it challenged the American premise. America fought a war over it. As a compromise, the majority simply moved to a different corner and continued to covet it.
But nothing fundamentally changed. The different tribes continued to live in their tribal regions. But the American space continued to shrink as more people streamed in, demanded for a place up the ladder.
The majority got relief by moving to different corners whenever an encroachment was noticed. But it was a matter of time before they ran out of corners.
It happened when President Barack Obama made it to the White House.
For the nativists, they woke up the day after and wondered for the first time what happened to their country. They have not stopped wondering ever since.
In wondering, they question who the man in their White House is. Is he not a Muslim? Is he not a communist? Wasn’t he foreign born?
They blamed Obama for the fundamental transformation of America. But the transformation occurred long before Obama got there. The globalization has left them unemployed and unskilled for the new world’s market place. The deliberate importation of highly skilled workers into America that fuels American research and development has handed over a significant portion of the elite to those different from the nativists.
Then the draw of cheap labor for American businesses busted the borders and flood America with illegal immigrants. Unlike blacks who lived in the ghettos of American cities, the illegal immigrants went straight into the suburbs.
The new immigrants came into focus, went in contact, in conflict and are once again challenging the America premise.
It is a routine phenomenon in sociopolitical life of any nation. It leads to war when a political entity buys into the fears of those on the fringe of society.
The Republican Party, by the ideology it professes, has been shrinking. It lost the last election but will not let the party that won to rule. It is teaming up with the fringe to advertize fear with the hope of drawing the former majority, now turning into a minority, together to put up a final resistance.
It is the backdrop of the new campaign to retake their country. Because they cannot say anything I have said above, they have to rely on a fight against the debt, the deficit, expanding government, healthcare mandate, false science, illegal immigration, growing China, legal abortion, fleeting freedom and the restoration of the Constitution.
They have no confidence in the next generation’s ability to steer their country. They are of the illusion that there is a way to have an executive, a judiciary, and two legislative bodies in a complex and fast changing world without having an expanding government.
Unless they blink, evolve and adapt, it is going to be a war. They are already stockpiling guns. It won’t be long before they fire. And the true America will return fire.
