If rumours are to be believed, then Nicole Richie, adopted daughter of singer Lionel Richie and Godchild of Michael Jackson, is preparing for an engagement with the lead vocalist of the band Good Charlotte, Joel Madden.
As the report goes, The Simple Life star was seen together with Joel Madden at a Los Angeles jewellery store XIV Carats, on February 19th. Reportedly, Nicole tried on several ruby necklaces before buying one for half-price at $3,350. The couple also browsed the engagement rings, which were in the sale.
An employee told Life and Style Weekly magazine:
Of course he would never get her a half-price ring.You can tell they’re crazy about each other. His arm was around her the entire time.
Nicole, 25, a celebrity on her own, has dated Canadian music producer and entrepreneur Brad Salyn and Brody Jenner, a life-long family friend, who starred in the reality show Princes of Malibu.
She was engaged to club DJ Adam Goldstein also known as D.J. AM in February 2005 after dating since 2003 and were set to marry in summer 2006. On December 7, 2005, she and Adam broke off their 9 month engagement, only to be seen together again in March 2006.
Nicole used marijuana, cocaine, and heroin, was arrested three times, and was involved in five car accidents before she went into drug rehabilitation in 2003.
Joel Madden,28, on the other hand, is a sober guy. He is the lead vocalist of the band Good Charlotte and identical twin brother of guitarist Benji Madden. Joel dated Hilary Duff for 2 1/2 years but their relationship ended in November 2006.
Nicole and Joel began dating last year. And if the whisper of the wind is true, then we are sure to hear the wedding bells soon.
