Cancer survivor and political journalist Bob Lloyd Schieffer is a well known face on American television. However, what has recently got him in the news instead of being the face behind the news is his tirade against Donald Trump, apparently because he feels that Trump is racially motivated against Obama.
It may be noted that Trump had earlier on in the week doubted the genuineness of President Obama???s education and his ability to be an Ivy League product by stating that he had friends with smart kids who despite their excellent academic records were unable to get into Harvard. The context behind this rant of his was the fact that Obama has not been releasing his transcripts which he therefore felt raised questions about him as well as his education.
Schieffer who appeared on The CBS Evening News on Wednesday was absolutely livid with these comments of Trump, especially those, where he doubted if the American President Barack Obama had indeed been to the Harvard Law School. The Face the Nation host who had famously moderated the third presidential debate between Senator John McCain and Senator Barack Obama way back in October 2008 argued that Trump with his irresponsible statements was hinting that Obama got into the law school only because he was black. Schieffer further went on record to say that Trump with such comments showed that the ugly fiber of racism was still alive within him. If what Bob Schieffer alleges is indeed true, then it is without doubt a big blot on Trump???s personality. Let???s hear Trump clear the air soon.
