Israel in the Suez Canal

suez20canal20today vfXP3 19672In an effort to intimidate Iran, Israel has recently been undertaking training missions that are designed to show off its military superiority. A few months back, Israel’s air force trained across the Mediterranean a distance akin to that from Israel to Iran. Even helicopters were employed to act out a rescue mission of a downed fighter pilot.

Now Israel has decided to attempt to scare Iran with its German-built three Dolphin-class submarines that are believed to carry nuclear warheads:

“An Israeli submarine sailed the Suez Canal to the Red Sea as part of a naval drill last month, defense sources said on Friday, describing the unusual maneuver as a show of strategic reach in the face of Iran. Israel long kept its three Dolphin-class submarines, which are widely assumed to carry nuclear missiles, away from Suez so as not to expose them to the gaze of Egyptian harbormasters.”

Israel’s efforts are pathetic. First, submarines serve no use if and when Israel attacks Iran’s nuclear sites. Second, who is afraid of whom? It is not Iranians who spend day-and-night worrying about a threat from Israel. It is Israelis whom are paranoid beyond belief and are sweating thinking about a nuclear Iran.

Israel’s show of force does not intimidate rather it shows the weakness of Israel as power terrified of even nuclear potential of a rival nation. Israel’s lack confidence in themselves because deep down in their hearts, even if they spend day and night trying to convince themselves otherwise, they know that their country is not a permanent member of the Middle East.

That Israel has not known one day of acceptance in the region. That it has always been on the defensive in justifying its existence. And that the day will come when Israel becomes “the former state of Israel.”
