If you admire Johnny Depp for his offbeat and eccentric roles like Jack Sparrow of the “Pirates of the Caribbean” and Raoul Duke of “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas”, get ready for another freakish character of Depp as the trippy Mad Hatter in the Burtonized version of “Alice in Wonderland “.
Depp with crazy orange hair, yellow eyes and a hat is looking really creepy, but if you think he is the only star with bizarre looks, let me tell you that other stars like Anne Hathaway as pale-looking White Queen and Helena Bonham Carter with digitally enlarged head as Red Queen are equally freakish looking characters.
According to Disney, Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland ” will be much closer to the book by Lewis Carroll but this version is definitely going to be different than what we have seen so far.
Johnny Depp is perfect in getting under the skin of a character and bringing it out like nobody else and I’m really excited to see how Depp comes up as Mad Hatter in the film set to release on March 5, 2010. I’m sure Depp’s admirers are desperately waiting for “Alice in Wonderland” to see if Depp’s character, Mad Hatter, is equally appreciated like Captain Jack Sparrow or not.
