James Beard Awards: Announcing the nominees of the food Oscars

Following the film Oscars is the Food Oscars or the James Beard Awards, which will be organized by the ABC-TV and PBS radio personality Cokie Roberts, on the 8th of May in New York. The nominees for the most-awaited culinary awards were announced this Thursday in the James Beard House in New York. There are a total of 60 categories and a new category for the best Webcasts on food. The popular categories and the corresponding nominees are as follows:

Hubert Keller of Fleur de Lys – San Francisco
Nobu Matsuhisa of Matsuhisa – Los Angeles
Alfred Portale of Gotham Bar & Grill – New York
Michel Richard of Michel Richard Citronelle – Washington, D.C.

Restaurant:
Boulevard – San Francisco
Dahlia Lounge – Seattle
Everest – Chicago
French Laundry – Yountville, Calif.
Spiaggia – Chicago.
