Most of the times I hear someone talking about taking a break from acting career is mostly female stars….. and this happens only when they are expectant moms.

But Regeneration actor, James Mcavoy has surprised me by disclosing that he soon plans to quit films to become a full-time house husband.

Please…don’t assume that he is parting away from stardom forever as the good news is that he has planned a short break from film making so he can spend some quality time with wife Anne-Marie Duff.

The surprise gift to Anne-Marie Duff, co-star of hit British TV series Shameless came after James, 28, won the best actor Scottish Bafta award for his work in The Last King Of Scotland on Sunday, November 18, 2007.

Speaking on his upcoming break he said:

“I have been in employment for a long time, so I am taking a bit of a break. I need a bit of rest. You could say I have become a househusband. It’s not a new man thing, it’s just largely a boring man who doesn’t mind staying in the house thing.”

His 2007 releases were ‘Becoming Jane’ with Anne Hathaway and ‘Atonement’ with Keira Knightley. Recently he has finished adaptation for ‘Wanted’ that is slated for March release next year. In New Year he is expected to begin working in ‘Three Way Split’ for Neil Hunter and Tom Hunsinger. But seeing his busy schedule in 2008, I fear whether he will really be able to take a break!
