Despite winning an Oscar for best supporting actress Jennifer Hudson was highly criticized for her fashion faux pas at the red carpet event.
The star admitted on US morning show Today that Andre Leon Talley, an editor of US Vogue had guided Hudson through the awards season, helping style her for major appearances after the success of Dreamgirls. Jennifer Hudson, who was dressed in a hideous brown ruched gown with a metallic python bolero by Oscar de la Renta said that she would have definitely picked up a much better outfit herself.

Jennifer was kind of sponsored by Talley and Vogue. Andre insisted she wear that hideous Oscar De La Renta dress with the awful, awful gold python bolero. Moments before she left for the show, there was a power struggle and Jennifer ended up putting his outfit on.
The unnamed source added that Jennifer had earlier dressed in a beautiful gold Roberto Cavalli gown, picked by celebrity stylist Jessica Paster. But Andre went ballistic on her choice and insisted that she wore the ugly brown gown.
