When Johnny Depp was crowned People magazine???s 2009 Sexiest Man Alive last November, not only did he stomped last year’s winner and this year’s hot favorite Hugh Jackman to earn the title but also entered the elite club of two-time SMA title holders (only Brad Pitt and George Clooney have matched the feat). But guess what, Johnny is not too thrilled with this honor. The 46-year-old actor has shunned the title, telling that he thought the honor was a “joke”.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star, who previously scooped the award in 2003, proved he is still making fans swoon at the age of 46 after winning the prize in 2009. Depp nudged out hunky 2008 winner Hugh Jackman, but insists he doesn’t belong on the list, next to other double winners including Brad Pitt, George Clooney and Richard Gere. He tells the Associated Press, “That should be someone else, that confuses me beyond recognition. I don’t know how to react. I really thought it was a joke.”
You know what, that makes him all the more sexy. In a make-believe world where people bribe their way to earn such titles, Johnny’s honest disapproval of this title is definitely worth accolades… and one more Sexiest Man Alive title. Bravo, Johnny!
