Calling all gangster wannabes and big time supporters of gangster culture. Get yourself armed with a truckful of cash and hit the 39th Annual Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction, in Scottsdale between 18 and 24 January. If it’s your lucky day, then you could end up owning a piece of American gangster history. The 1930 Ford Model Coupe of gangster John Dillinger, which Johnny Depp drove in Public Enemies, is set to go under the hammer at the said auction.

Contactmusic quotes Barrett-Jackson president Steve Davis as saying,

This car is a piece of American gangster history and as much a part of Dillinger’s legend as his Tommy guns and Colt automatics. Not only did this particular car get the famous gangster out of a fix with the cops in hot pursuit, it was used in the recent Johnny Depp movie about Dillinger. So it’s played an important role in history and cinema emulating history.

The car is a genuine treasure for any collector. It still carries the original bullet holes and dimples that it sustained when gangsters John Dillinger, Hommer Van Meter and John Hamilton zoomed in it after an FBI raid in Little Bohemia, Wisconsin in the 1930s.

P.S. Smalltime crooks please excuse!
