Judith Regan, editor and publisher of O. J. Simpson’s book ‘If I Did It’ has been fired Friday, by HarperCollins, the publishing company which owns Regan Books.

HarperCollins CEO Jane Friedman said,

Judith Regan’s employment with HarperCollins has been terminated effective immediately. The REGAN publishing program and staff will continue as part of the HarperCollins General Books Group.

The Regan publishing program and staff will continue as part of the HarperCollins General Books Group.

O. J. Simpson’s ‘If I Did It,’ describes how he theoretically would have committed the murders of ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman. The project came under intense criticism and even the interview of Simpson which was slated to air on Fox had been cancelled due to public protest and disapproval from advertisers and booksellers moreover 400,000 books had to be destroyed.

O.J. Simpson also admitted that he participated in the book ‘If I Did It’ only for ‘blood money’.

Regan, 53, often clashed with her peers and had tense relations with Friedman. Regan moved her offices to Los Angeles, distancing herself from corporate officials in New York. And at last she has been fired by her parent company.

I wonder what will be Regan’s next act and who will publish the book?
