Despite a historic defeat in the General Elections this year, former UPA Ministers have not yet given up on their love for luxury and their high browed tastes. Kapil Sibal is a leader in this field and has sealed his status by deciding to move into a bungalow that needs 16 lakhs as rent every month. Besides escalating the property among they highest grossing ones in the capital, Sibal’s flourish and prosperity comes to focus too. Jokes and mocks are on in full swing when it comes to analyzing his affordability of this hefty sum.
@BharathRF Probably Congress workers donating for Kapil Sibal’s 16 lakh monthly rent like #AAPTards doing for Kejriwal. 😀 @KiranKS

Now, being one of the top names in Constitutional and Corporate law, in our country, Sibal might be entitled to spend as he wishes. However, when compared to his diktat that the poor can belong Below Poverty Line only if they learn less than INR 1020 per month, the rent figure appears funny.

When a Minister fails to understand the common man’s plight and shells out limitless money on pampering his own self, that signifies insensitivity. Our country is crippled with economic crisis, recession in the job market and loads of plaguing issues. Yet amid so much, Sibal and his compatriots keep having their share of luxury and a pleasant night’s sleep. In a democracy, it is only too unfair to have discrepancies in social status to this extent. And what have we read in our political science books since school? That India is a Socialist Republic. While the jibe is that India could turn into royalty for the classes and into a dog’s land for the masses!
Kapil Sibal will pay ₹16 lakh per month as rent for his new bungalow. All anti-sibal jokes buried under the rent deed.

Sibal has been a stellar lawyer who had given up his law practice during his stint in the Ministry. However, now that he is back to being a non-Minister, he has also etched out a place in his new bungalow for his law office. Well, the mighty have fallen yet their might remains intact!
