Katie Couric has confirmed that she was quitting ???CBS Evening News???. The 54-year-old news anchor is not very sure about what she would do next. She says she is looking for a job, which would give her more multi-dimensional storytelling options.
On her decision of leaving the show, Katie had this to say:
I have decided to step down from the ‘CBS Evening News.’ I’m really proud of the talented team on the ‘CBS Evening News’ and the award-winning work we’ve been able to do in the past five years in addition to the reporting I’ve done for ’60 Minutes’ and ‘CBS Sunday Morning’.
CBS is expected to appoint Scott Pelley of ???60 Minutes??? as Katie’s successor. Katie has plans to leave CBS as soon as her five-year contract ends in early June.
