If you have had the good fortune to catch the magnificent war-drama Atonement then you will not be surprised to learn that Keira Knightley’s stirring performance in the movie has got her a Best Actress award at the glorious Elle Style Awards. Held at the Westway in Notting Hill, west London, the annual awards ceremony also honored Keira???s Atonement co-star James McAvoy with a Best Actor award for his role in the flick.
The event turned out to be a double Valentine???s Day celebration for Keira who was surprised by her boyfriend actor Rupert Friend with a trip to Iceland for the V-day celebration. A source spoke of the couple???s delight:
It sounded like it must have cost a fortune. I think he organized the whole thing as a surprise, she seemed pretty excited about it.
Other winners of the night included the gorgeous queen of pop Kylie Minogue who was named Woman of the Year while actress Kate Hudson was crowned Elle Style Icon of the Year for her ???distinctive and kooky??? fashion sensibilities.
TV presenter Kelly Osbourne and actor Nicholas Hoult walked away with the best of television awards while Agyness Deyn got the Best Model Award. Kate Nash was honored for her contribution to music while accessories designer Anya Hindmarch was given the Outstanding Achievement award for hr creation “I’m not a plastic bag”.
