keisha claims public hype spoiled pregnancy 14

Teenage actress Keisha Castle-Hughes says that her pregnancy which became a subject of guilty and shame, spoilt her celebratory time.

Giving her first formal interview in two years, Castle-Hughes said on TV1’s Sunday program that she was shocked discovering pregnancy at 16. However, now at the age of 17, at the later stages of pregnancy, she says that she is ready to have a baby.

Castle-Hughes feels that the public controversy surrounding her teenage pregnancy hurt her a lot. The teenager acted in the New Zealand film Whale Rider three years back and became the youngest ever Oscar nominee for best actress.

The 17 years old actress says that Oscars were a bizarre event, with people everywhere screaming her name. She adds that the ‘insanely expensive’ Hollywood gifts surprised her. She probably was not able to handle so much of attention that she decided to go back to school and quit acting. Keisha says that the paparazzi trying to take pics of her baby bump often scares her.

Pregnancy of teenage starlets definitely set a poor example for kids worldwide. What do you think?
