Kiefer Sutherland ‘head-butting case’ dropped

Actor Kiefer Sutherland got a clean chit in the head-butting case yesterday after a New York District Attorney rejected the case. The D.A. declined to prosecute after a full investigation.

Entertainment Tonight obtained the following statement from the New York D.A.,

We declined to prosecute after a full investigation. And that included speaking to the complaining witness who was quite uncooperative??? Therefore, the DA declined to prosecute.

Sutherland was charged May 7 with third degree assault for allegedly head-butting designer Jack McCollough, who accidentally bumped into Brooke Shields at a Met Gala after-party May 5.

You know what, I think it was not luck but influence that worked for Sutherland, because he even managed to get an all-clear from the L.A. City Attorney’s office, which investigated the actor for a possible probation violation. After all, there have to be certain perks for playing a counter-terrorism expert. What say you, Mr. Sutherland?
