Kiefer Sutherland has managed, once again, to get himself arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and for violating probation. He was on probation for his 2004 DUI arrest.

He surrendered himself on Wednesday to serve his 48-day sentence at the Glendale city jail. Officer John Balian, the jail spokesman, revealed that Sutherland is a very polite and a humble person and
was being very cooperative through the entire process.

He also added that Sutherland will be an inmate-worker and the duties assigned to him would be kitchen duty, laundry and serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Emmy winning star was also sentenced to five years’ probation, an 18-month alcohol education program along with weekly therapy sessions for six months.

He is expected to serve his entire 48-day term in jail without using good time or work time credit to get out of it. Pangs of conscience and guilt could be clearly seen in Sutherland as he issued a statement saying that he is really disappointed in himself and is sorry for the distress caused to his family, friends and co-workers.
