Kontilo- the lowest price tractor of Assam to be landed soon

When the Assam Agriculture University has stepped up with their latest Research and Development wing to scan the state’s agricultural feedback and its essentials, a group of energetic technical minds from the Assam Engineering Institute (AEI), Guwahati has come up with their latest technology invention to create a lowest budget Tractor for public service with the help of unique idea developer Kanak Gogoi.

“The 5.5HP tractor-‘Kontilo’, is specially designed to target the needs of the farmers of the state of Assam. The high agricultural potential state has less investing elements to upgrade it from its present status and we hope that this tractor can be the suitable alternate to the poor”, said Nilakamal Kalita, one of the involve engineers. Supratim Borah, Shraban Singha, Nitin Kumar Das and Sanjay Bhuyan are the rest of the venture who are now taking logistic guidance from the named inventor Kanak Gogoi to enact the project.

Kanak Gogoi has already a bright name in Assam automobile invention with his many solar automobiles, water boats, power speed brackers and AEI students are taking this advantage of his ideas to materialize their project. “They have definitely come up with a brilliant idea to have a low cost tractor for the state and this tractor will only be cheap in its price but not in its power”, said Kanak who also added that the tractor will be able to use in ploughing and transportation.

According to the six man group “Kontilo” will be costing around 1 lakh, which is the lowest in its grade, has single cylinder 4- stroke diesel engine equipped with swirl combustion chamber. “The tractor will be much fuel efficient and with 40km per hour speed, it can work under adverse condition. We have used a new technology to provide maximum output in agricultural operations”, they informed.

The group also expecting a high feedback not only from the farmers but also from the Agriculture Department of Assam to promote it. “It’s a great relief and news that a few of these young minds are coming up with new technologies to help the agriculture of Assam and the state department will definitely help with all amenities to it”, said Assam Agriculture University officials.

The tractor is only a few steps back than its completion said Kanok Gogoi with the information that it might be complete within this month and can be launched shortly after that. “The Government has declared many of their facilities to promote the agricultural production. Even Congress head Sonia Gandhi has cut many high rate subsidies and now this tractor can really combined to change the look of our fertile and economy”, wished Bipin Chaliha, a local vegetable farmer.
