Konvict becomes convict: Charged with harassment

What more can you expect from a rock star who shoots his music video from a jail and calls himself Convict or rather Akon? Several charges were filed against the R&B singer Akon after he tossed a teen off the stage and onto the crowd for fun. The teenager suffered some concussions as a result. When Akon showed up in the court, he pleaded Not Guilty.

The R&B icon was released without bail after a brief court appearance. The ‘Convict’ has been ordered to return to the court on January 16th of next year! I guess they are probably going to monitor the R&B star for any harmful action he takes against the crowd or folks that surround him. Akon refused to comment on the matter as he left the courthouse.

The irony here is that A Konvict never did anything against the law. At least that’s what his attorney claims. Anyway, for those who are not sure who I am talking about here’s a brief intro to Akon. Akon is a shorter name for Aliaune Thiam. He is a Senegalese-American hip hop and R&B singer and songwriter.

As of now, the famous singer has about 130 guest appearances as well as 21 Billboard Hot 100 songs to his credit. I think that’s an insane record! Almost all of Akon’s songs start with a clamping sound of the jail cell withe Akon saying ‘Konvict’! I guess maybe that’s why they sort of let him go since he always sings from the jail. The Konvict was charged with harassment of a minor.
