Kris Allen shocked the world, including himself, when he walked away with the American Idol title last night after beating the vocal powerhouse Adam Lambert! I’m not just shocked, I’m shaken to the core of my spine!
The 23-year-old from Conway, Arkansas, clinched the unexpected victory after nearly 100 million viewers voted in his favor and crushed Adam Lambert’s dream of becoming the American Idol. Adam was a clear favorite with the judges, but as they say, the viewers are the king and their votes sealed Adam’s fate.
The grand finale saw Allen teaming up with Keith Urban on “Kiss a Girl” and later, coyly expressing his disbelief as the final results were announced.
I’m truly happy for Allen because I personally wanted him to win. Not just because I think he is an all around musician, but I love his coy style.
