The wedding of Kim Kardashian with Kris Humphries was a much awaited event. It was one of those celebrity weddings which created a buzz in the media and became the hottest topic of discussion among many.
Kim, who shot to fame as a model, actress, and a socialite married her boyfriend Kris Humphries, an NBA player, on August 20th, 2011, after a short dating for six months. More than their union, their stylish and elaborate wedding became the talk of the town. Kim’s engagement ring of 20.5-carat platinum worth an estimated $1 million and the wedding ceremony worth around $200,000 made their wedding no less than a fairy tale wedding.
Even before the couple settled in their marital life, questions were pouring as to when they would start a family. The couple were not in a hurry as Kim told in an interview that they prefer to wait for an year to have kids. Kris also was keen to concentrate on his NBA career. But now less than two months of their marriage, Kris wants babies!
In a recent video clip of a reality show, Kris, 26 years, suggested Kim, 30 years, to “start pumping out babies”. The stress to be in the public eye all the time, being labeled as a celebrity’s husband, and paparazzi dominance in his life was evident on Kris’s face. He was openly suggesting his newly wed bride to move to Minnesota, a much quieter location and a place where they can live peacefully. It was very obvious that Kris wanted his privacy with his wife and want to see her settle down nurturing their babies.
Although Kim longs for motherhood, she is not prepared yet for a family. In the video she showed her concern about her hubby’s discomfort over paparazzi and the media fame. Kim’s mother, is also looking forward to become a grandmother one more time. Her only grandchild Mason, Kim’s nephew who is 21 months old, keeps her engaged, but she does not mind having a few more. Kim has already booked her as her baby’s baby sitter.
The reality show on the couple’s life after marriage portrays Kris’s frustration of coping with his celebrity wife. Kim, on the other hand, who is used to being in the public eye, is worried about her husband’s mood to adjust. Now, the big question in everyone’s mind is how are they going to handle this?
Kim and Kris’s union as married couple was always regarded as unfit not only by the media but also their close friends. Most people wonder if the couple can survive all the odds of their marriage. Kim was always the eye of the storm for many as she was thought to be impulsive and not decisive enough to marry Kris. Perhaps she should have waited for some more time and understood him.
Entry of a baby may not solve the issue. With both coming from different backgrounds, they also would be having different thoughts on parenthood. Only time would tell if these two people are made for each other or their marital decision was a faux pas.
