Australian pop princess Kylie Minogue is a superb and true pop idol. Aussie songbird has been named the most ‘glamorous’ winner of a prestigious British music prize. She becomes the first women in the event’s 16 year history to receive the Music Industry Trust’s award on Monday.
The 39-year old starlet was honored with 2007 Music Industry Trust Award for her 20-year contribution to the industry and was hailed as ‘an icon of pop and style’.
She says, “It is an incredible honor, I am truly thrilled to be recognized in this way.”
David Munns, chairman of the awards committee said, ‘There is no doubt that of our 15 award recipients to date, Kylie is by far the most glamorous. She deserves this award for her success over 20 years, staying at the top in one of the toughest professions and inspiring millions with her grace, dignity and humanity.”
Previous honorees include music legends Sir George Martin and Sir Elton John.
