Kylie Minogue has added one more feather to her cap. The Australian born, pop singer and songwriter, would be honored with France???s highest cultural award, Chevalier dans l’ordre des Arts et des Letters (meaning Knight in the order of Arts and Letters ). This is believed to be France???s highest cultural award. The Impossible Princess will be made Knight as she will be conferred with the award from the French Government in a ceremony that is scheduled for May 5th, in Paris.
The honor comes to the 39-year-old singer for her ???contribution to the enrichment of French culture???. The prestigious award will be given to her a day before she kicks off her world tour, KylieX2008, at the Paris Bercy arena. She said,
French culture has influenced me greatly and I have always had colossal respect for the arts and people of France. I am deeply honoured to be recognized.
Besides this coveted award, Kylie would also be honored with the Order of The British Empire (OBE) by Queen Elizabeth II for her substantial contribution to music later this year.
