Kylie Minogue’s perfume ‘Darling’ grabbed the top position in the celebrity perfume chart superseding Victoria Beckham. Kylie’s ‘Darling’ is the best-seller at high street chain Superdrug.
Superdrug’s fragrance buyer Tim Hughes said celebrity fragrances had become big business. The Australian singer’s perfume went on sale in November; she first appeared publicly after 18 months of diagnosis for the breast cancer.

Five years ago fragrances were all about designer names and the big beauty houses such as Chanel. The only celebrity fragrances were quite marginal and rather naff. Jennifer Lopez changed all that with the launch of her first fragrance. The Beckhams have also exploited the market really well with their brand. Victoria Beckham’s Intimately Her perfume is second in the chain’s celeb perfume charts followed by Jade Goody’s Shhh.
Kylie seems inspired by Jennifer Lopez and Britney Spears whose fragrances were in the stores before hers. Whom she’ll follow next?
