Ellen DeGeneres and Laura Dern reunited on DeGeneres’ syndicated talk show after ten years of kissing on screen in the Ellen’s ABC sitcom, to discuss the aftermaths of the much-hyped smooch.
DeGeneres, 49, made a pop-culture history in 1997 by sharing a smooch with comedian, Ellen DeGeneres during a guest appearance on the ABC series as a lesbian love interest.
Now, 40-years-old, Dern revealed that she could not get any acting job for more than a year after the controversial lip-lock. DeGeneres in turn apologized saying that she was not aware of the Hollywood snub the actress had to bear,
Dern recalls that not getting any projects was ‘awfully terrifying.’ She even said that she is grateful for the ‘extraordinary experience and opportunity’ to be a part of the episode, which also guest starred Oprah Winfrey, Demi Moore and Melissa Etheridge.
In olden times, producers worked on subjects of heavy weightage and did not just rely on sex and violence to promote their films. However, these days we rarely see movies which don’t go overboard to promote their films.
