In a not-so-surprising move, the judge in Lindsay Lohan’s DUI case has acted exactly as speculated by the media and closed the proceedings of the Friday hearing by sending her back to jail a third time. However, this time there’s no early release for LiLo and she’ll have to spend the next 29 days in that 8-by-12 foot cell of the all-female-inmate facility in Lynwood, Calif.
The judge denied bail for LiLo and ordered her to be held in custody until an Oct. 22 hearing after she failed a recent drug test in her DUI probation case. People quotes Steve Whitmore, L.A. Sheriff’s spokesman, as saying,
Ms. Lohan cannot be released early because this isn’t a jail sentence. She’s being held by court order until her hearing on Oct. 22. She will be held in the same conditions as her last stay, in a keep-away unit.
Well, this is it. I totally blame LiLo’s stars for this debacle. No doubt she fired the first bullet by failing her random drug test, but the judge didn’t lose the opportunity to nail her point blank by fixing a distant hearing and rejecting her bail.
