Bravo! Phyllis Diller, who still mesmerizes the world with her wit and matchless sense of humor, would be turning 90 on July 17. And despite a severe back injury the comedian is in high spirits and decided to have a birthday bash. Well, that what I call undying charisma.
Diller’s back injury is extremely painful and she has been advised a complete bed rest till she recovers. Though injury has rendered her nearly bedridden but she is still answering phones and obliging media with her interview.
In fact on her birthday she was supposed to give her birthday performance on NBC’s program – The Tonight Show. Now that has been rescheduled due to the injury. She has also rescheduled her birthday party at Beverly Hills hotel, which she had planned well in advance.
Though Diller giggles us with her short but hilarious jokes but she has more qualities as well. She even landed her voice as Peter’s mother for the animated TV series – Family Guy. An animated movie where she has lent her voice would be shown at next year’s Olympics in China.
It is expected that Diller will recover from the back injury in one month and back to business. Well, I hope that she recoups fast and returns once again to charm us with her spontaneous humor. Till then we gonna miss you Phyllis!
