The National Enquirer has come with the shocking revelation that a former employee of John Edwards, Democratic candidate for the Presidential elections, may be carrying his love-child.
Rielle Hunter, a video segment producer, is allegedly six-months pregnant. The 43-year old, who worked on Edwards’ campaign last year, has reportedly told friends that she is pregnant with his child.
Lawyers of the former senator, whose wife Elizabeth is fighting incurable breast cancer, have denied his involvement with Hunter.
The allegations come close on the eve of the crucial Iowa caucus due in January.
Incredibly, Andrew Young, another former campaign advisor for Edwards, has owned up to the affair and the unborn child, even going to the extent of relocating hunter from New York to his gated community in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
Although Hunter, a divorcee, drives a BMW registered in Young’s name, the fact that Young lives in Chapel Hill with his wife and kids, further heightens suspicions that her child s fathered by Edwards.
A lawyer for Ms. Hunter quoted her as saying, this has no relationship to nor does it involve John Edwards in any way. Andrew Young is the father my unborn child.
Young who left his North Carolina finance director position for Edwards’ campaign last month- also at the same time as hunter ‘relocated’ to his community- told the Enquirer that he was the father of Hunter’s child and not of his former boss.
A friend of Hunter’s however has revealed to the weekly that Young had stepped in to protect Edwards’ candidacy.
Rielle has said from the beginning that the baby is John’s, but she appears willing to do whatever they want her to do to protect his candidacy. I think what’s taking place is simply a cover-up by Edwards’ campaign.
Also recounting a recent visit by the Young’s to hunter at her new home in the community, the friend was quoted to have emphasized that it was highly unlikely for a married man to bring his family to meet his pregnant mistress.
