Lucknow City is preffered (28th ranking) on all India basis
Even though our CM Miss Mayawati has built her grand statues and mega parks but still Lucknow is ranked at 28th position with regards to infrastructure development. No other town even Noida and Greater Noida are no where to be found on the list which is topped by Delhi leaving behind many big ones of yester years favorites like Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune, Hyderabad etc.
It is well known fact that every successive Govt. did little to add infrastructure that will give city strength to be rivals to many up coming towns. Town Planning g in Lucknow is getting a raw deal. Even now so much in talks likes addition of Metro on the lines of Delhi, Industrial corridor between Kanpur and Lucknow, elevated expressway etc. are the dream projects of LDA. Even the idea of Integrated Housing Schemes with hi-tech features to be built with private sector participation will not win high ranking.
I think a lot needs to be done and bright think tanks have to sit in long sessions to plan out suitable strategy for the future. Otherwise the lone good city of UP worth the salt would remain far behind in progress……
