Marc Bannerman on a guilt trip

The I’m a celebrity show is over. Or is it? It wasn’t so much in the news when it was running as it is now. The latest development is that Marc Bannerman finally admitted he behaved like a ‘rat’ after breaking his ex-lover Sarah’s heart by falling for Cerys Matthews in the jungle. Alleged love-partner Cerys volunteers to share the guilt, saying ‘I don’t think he has any more blame than me’. Does anybody want to contest that? No? I thought so.

Marc’s guilt trip began after seeing the hotel room he’d been due to share with Sarah and the clothes Sarah had dutifully folded up before leaving for London. The emotionally overwhelmed Marc admitted to Sarah’s actions as completely justified while watching footage of himself and Cerys in the jungle.

I feel sick. I feel for Sarah watching that. I feel really stupid. I can’t even look at myself in the mirror.

The former EastEnder, who was the first celebrity to be booted off the show, said he doesn’t know if he really loves Cerys (I remember him saying in an interview that he hoped to have children with Cerys…). Cerys, however, continues to be a little more candid–

I loved being with him. It was a pleasure to get to know such a lovely human being. If this is about love that’s a good thing to have trouble with. We were friends, it could have become a lot more intense. I was aware he had a girlfriend, he didn’t try to mislead me.

Marc is supposed to have Sarah to apologize. We don’t know what came of that.

Zooming in on the other contestants, they were a lot more civil at the reunion than on the show. Football legend Rodney Marsh apologized to Lynne Franks by saying that it was wrong of him not to say goodbye to her. King of the Jungle Christopher Biggins, 58, would probably soon be on a talk show.
