Madonna seems to be quite interested to uplift the living standard of the orphans of Malawi, Africa. She had also founded the charity in 2006 and named it Raising Malawi. Now Madonna is joining hands with Gucci to raise fund for the orphans of Malawi. According to the Reuters, Madonna and Gucci are going to arrange a fund raising program, which is going to be held on February 6, 2008 on the occasion of the inauguration of Gucci’s largest store in the world, on New York’s Fifth Avenue. The function will include a musical performance and a party followed with dinner. This event is going to benefit her charity, Raising Malawi as well as UNICEF too.

Madonna says that her charity, Raising Malawi has done a lot of work that has helped a lot of children there, but there is lot to do and she is positive about the success of this event and hopes that the fund raised will surely bring her closer to her target. She is one of them who believe in doing something for poor and needy rather than just giving out some money for them. Last October in 2006, she along with her husband, Guy Ritchie had adopted their son, David Banda in Malawi. She really wants to help them out of the condition and is doing at her best. Adopting a girl child from Malawi itself is also rumored these days about Madonna and it will not come out as a surprise if it is true because she is fully involved in uplifting the condition of the orphans there.
