Michael Douglas indeed is a fighter in true sense. After battling the throat cancer at advanced stage, the Wall Street star is now fighting the bipolar II disorder that his wife Welsh actor Catherine Zeta Jones is suffering from. Catherine, with whom Douglas renewed his wedding vows on their 10th wedding anniversary in November last year, has been supporting him firmly throughout his illness. However, the ordeal seems to have taken a toll on the health of this 41-year old Welsh actor.

As reported by The Sun,

Catherine has been battling these problems for some time but held herself together for Michael. But after he was told his tumor had gone, it was time to deal with her issues.
Just months after needing to be looked after around the clock, Michael became the carer.
He has been treating Catherine to romantic dinners, spa treatments and lots of emotional support.

The couple decided to deal with the disorder with openness and seek the professional help. Therefore, Jones was briefly hospitalized for the treatment. The couple has surely set an example and helping so many people out there suffering from the disorder but fighting it privately, whereas the professional help may be needed.

For those who are not aware, bipolar disorder causes depression, mood swings, impulsiveness and can also lead to mania. The difference between bipolar disorder I & II is that the former leads to severe mania whereas the later has less severe hypo mania. We know that having each other by their sides, the couple will surely come out of this disorder as well. All our best wishes to the couple who have truly been there with each other through tough times. We wish happiness to both of them together.
