Quarterback Michael Vick has begun his jail term at Northern Neck Regional Jail in Warsaw, three weeks before he was to hear the sentencing in dogfighting case, which is scheduled for Dec. 10, 2007.

The 27-year-old player was out on bail and surrendered voluntarily to U.S Marshall, on Monday 19, 2007.

Vick was banned from the Falcons team this year due to his involvement in illegal dogfighting and gambling activities.

NFL suspended him indefinitely without pay though he pleaded in the Bad Newz Kennels dogfighting investigation hours before the beginning of 2007 season.

Vick is a first time offender and may be awarded a maximum of five years of imprisonment as he has earlier accepted allegations of staking the Bad Newz Kennels.

Vick’s sentence hearing before Judge Henry Hudson will take place in Richmond, Va.

Indeed he will repay for his misdeeds in jail besides other setbacks. To name a few his endorsement contracts with Nike, EA Sports, Coca-Cola, Powerade, Kraft, Rawlings, Hasbro and AirTran remain cancelled. Not only this as sporting goods manufacturer Rawlings has also stopped using his name for its footballs.

Going through all this indicates that coming times are really difficult for Vick, but still he can not be pardoned or excused by any law for his heinous crime towards poor animals!
