I’ve seen rumors succumbing to premature death but this is the ugliest demise (of a rumor) I’ve ever seen or heard. I’m talking about the recent reports of an affair between Evan Rachel Wood and Mickey Rourke, the co-stars of The Wrestler. Evan has issued a harsh statement denying any link with Rourke. And by harsh, I mean real harsh.
Clearly disturbed by the menacing rumors which were affecting the prospects of the ‘brilliant’ movie in a negative way, she decided to come out with a fatal blow and issued the following statement,
I???m upset because I feel disrespected by the press and by Mr. Rourke. Just because I???m single doesn???t mean that you can take advantage of me. It???s unfair that the performances might suffer because of all of these distractions. I???m not attracted to him, he???s too old for me. Nothing ever happened and nothing ever will.
I think last time when I heard about Evan, she was busy kicking that horror-house spectacle (read: Marilyn Manson) out of her life. And now Mr. Rourke has experienced the fatality of his closeness to Evan. Do you understand what this means? Trespass at your own risk, or else you will end up with some sour memories and a shattered ego!
