The MTV Video Music Awards is set for a grand opening this year courtesy of Michael Jackson. Reportedly, the show will begin with a tribute to the deceased King of Pop, presented by none other than his sister Janet Jackson.

The Video Music Awards will pay homage to Michael Jackson when his sister Janet opens the show at Radio City Music Hall in New York on Sept. 13, MTV announced Tuesday.
It’s not known whether Janet will perform ??? it’s being billed as a “special appearance” ??? but her mere presence on stage is expected to give the show an emotional punch.
It’s true that Janet’s presence will work wonders for the show, but ultimately it’s Michael’s magic that will be at work at the VMAs. And I’m sure he’ll be smiling and enjoying the show from his heavenly abode.
