After a long wait of more than two years, Morgan Freeman is officially single again. The oscar-winning actor has finalized his divorce from his wife of 26 years, Myrna Colley-Lee. A judge in Jackson, Mississippi finalized the divorce on Wednesday 15 September 2010, working on papers filed by the veteran actor in July 2008.

The Oscar-winning actor and Myrna Colley-Lee officially ended their 26-year marriage on September 15, his lawyer William R Wright has confirmed. He said: “There’s no waiting period, there was no trial and they reached an amicable settlement. He is just happy that they can both move on.” The couple – who married in June 1984 and have two children together – separated in December 2007, but the news wasn’t made public until the following August.
I hate divorces as much as I hate unyielding relationships and hence, I think I’ll go with Freeman’s decision to end his 26-year marriage. As it is there’s no point in extending a relationship any further if you think you can convince your heart to axe it off even after living with a person for 26 long years.
