Movie Review: JAB WE MET, Jab they clicked

If you think JAB WE MET is a very predictable movie, then it will let you think for awhile. The chemistry of Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor was something in the movie that clicked them like never before. This will let you completely forget the unlikely non-chemistry between them in Chup Chup Ke and 36 China Town.

The film is about a rich and young industrialist, Aditya Kashyap (Shahid Kapoor) who is distressed with life as his mother leaves his father for another man and his girlfriend gets married to another man. Not getting to the terms of his life, he leaves Mumbai and, in the train he comes across Geet (Kareena Kapoor), from Bhatinda who is a jovial character and full of life. Both miss the train and Kareena tries to get over the rich boy persuading him to leave to her home.

This adventurous train journey with its strikingly unconventional Kareena Kapoor and angry young man (that’s what Kareena tells him throughout) creating an affectionate yet fashionable trip for all the viewers. In the trip, although they are opposites, they catch up with each other and finds a soul connections which drives them closer ever after being separated for nine long months.

Imitiaz Ali, the director of JAB WE MET was highly appreciated for his debut movie Socha Na tha and has got much better and considerable comments for this love story as well. He got the perfect masala for the movie and that too in the right proportion.

The catch of the movie can be definitely the dialogues and fine performances. Dialogues of Kareena Kapoor are definitely a play up which is well coupled with the fair justices both the real-life boyfriend and girlfriend has given to their respective roles in the movie.

Adding to all these in the soothing music score given by Pritam and one red-hot number Mauja hi Mauja. Summing it all, JAB WE MET is a sweet movie filled with innocence and nothing blew over the moon. A perfect entertainment.
