Five days after her kidney transplant, Natalie Cole, 59, has been discharged from the hospital. Cole was undergoing dialysis thrice a week along with the treatment for hepatitis C until she got a call that a donor organ was available. She lost her sister, Carol “Carol “Cookie” Cole, who passed away following a battle with lung cancer the same day Natalie received her life-saving organ transplant.” Cole, following prolonged lung cancer on the same day Natalie was operated.
PEOPLE magazine quoted her spokesperson as,
Natalie is continuing to do well under the circumstances, Cole is expected to spend the next three to four months recuperating and will reschedule her summer tour dates in support of her album Still Unforgettable.
Sorry for the demise of Carol “Cookie” Cole, May God bless her soul. We wish this Grammy winner a speedy recovery. Get well soon Natalie.
