I would usually disregard launch of products by actress-turned-designers, but this time I had to take a second look. Reports noted that Natalie Portman has designed a collection of shoes in collaboration with Te Casan. U may ask what is so great about this. Well, her range of shoes are vegan! Better still, 5% of the profits go to charity.
Natalie Portman has often mentioned in her interviews that because of her vegetarian beliefs, all her shoes are all from Target or Stella McCartney – as they aren’t made from animal products. Now, with her new collection, she can very well wear her own designs. The Natalie Portman Collection arrives online on February 2008 and at the NYC boutique located at 382 West Broadway. The shoes are available for pre-order from January 15.
Natalie Portman had always been a vegetarian since childhood and has been an advocate of animal rights. Her new collection of Te Casan vegan shoes is a reflection of her belief. Come February, we will know exactly how much the shoes cost and how much good they do to our toes.
