National Enquirer has apologized to Cameron
for falsely alleging that the actress cheated Justin Timberlake, her then boyfriend (May 2005).
Pictures of Diaz kissing married MTV producer Shane Nickerson were published on the publication’s website accompanied with a story titled ‘Cameron Caught Cheating!’ which claimed that Diaz was cheating on Justin and even facing a ‘grilling’ from Timberlake over the kiss photographs.
Sam Howard, the magazine’s solicitor, said that the publication accepted that the allegations were false and baseless and should have never been published at the forst place. He added that the magazine accepts that photos did not show a passionate smooch but just a warm goodbye hug.
The magazine has expressed regrets for defame and problem caused to Diaz, Timberlake, Mr Nickerson and his wife.
